Alexis Panselinos was born in 1943 in Athens into a family of writers. He studied law at Athens University and worked as a lawyer in Piraeus until 1996. He made his literary debut in 1982 with Stories with Dogs and has since published four novels and a volume of essays. He has translated works of literature from the English and German. His novel The Great Procession won the Second State Literary Award for the Novel in 1986. Novels of his have been translated into Italian, English, French and German.
