| 02. Παράταση αιτήσεων για συμμετοχή στο πρόγραμμα «Φράσις» του ΕΚΕΒΙ | | Η Επιτροπή του Προγράμματος «Φράσις» του Εθνικού Κέντρου Βιβλίου (ΕΚΕΒΙ) συνεδρίασε στις 13 Μαΐου αποφασίζοντας να παραταθεί έως τις αρχές Ιουνίου η δυνατότητα υποβολής αιτήσεων από ενδιαφερόμενους εκδοτικούς οίκους, φορείς, πνευματικά ιδρύματα και πολιτιστικούς οργανισμούς του εξωτερικού για την επιχορήγηση μεταφράσεων Ελλήνων συγγραφέων. |  |
| 07. Τα Εργαστήρια Βιβλίου του ΕΚΕΒΙ | | Από το Εθνικό Κέντρο Βιβλίου διευκρινίζεται ότι η λειτουργία των Εργαστηρίων Βιβλίου του ΕΚΕΒΙ έχει προς το παρόν ανασταλεί και σε κανέναν δεν έχει παρασχεθεί το δικαίωμα να παρουσιάζεται ως συνεχιστής.
Σχετικά με το θέμα έχει αποσταλεί εξώδικο προς το βιβλιοπωλείο που εμφανίζεται με διαφημίσεις ως συνεχιστής των Εργαστηρίων που επί σειρά ετών λειτούργησαν με επιτυχία από το ΕΚΕΒΙ. | |

The Drifting Cities trilogy of Stratis Tsirkas is a colourful, turbulent fresco of the Middle East during World War II. Under the sway of intense sexual passion, the heroes are torn between the grim mandates of politics and history and their burning personal desires and needs.
The vicissitudes of the Greek Left – and its harsh internal disputes at one of the most critical points in its history – play out in an international environment.
Tsirkas combines elements from the European realist tradition with the modernist techniques of stream of consciousness and interior monologue. His strongly drawn male and female characters lend vigour and complete naturalness to the personal and political events depicted in this skilful portrayal of everyday life in 1940s Cairo and Jerusalem, where the hum of war is constantly audible.
A multinational cast of characters creates an ambience of a robust and completely unforced cosmopolitanism on the fictional stage.
