Yiannis Efstathiadis was born in Athens in 1946. He studied economics and politics at Athens University Law School. He has published poetry, prose, essays, children’s books and books about food under the Roman pen-name of Apicius. He is a member of the Hellenic Society of Authors. In recent years has written regular columns for newspapers and magazines (Eleftherotypia, 4 Troxoi, Tempo/Newsweek, Economikos Tachydromos and Status). From 1999 to 2005, he wrote a music column, Antistixeis, for Kathimerini on Sunday He is a contributor to the Greek state radio Third Programme, for which he wrote and presented the programme Orchestra Rehearsal (2003-2004), and he occasionally edits radio programmes devoted to literature.
