The dead and the living meet in Zyranna Zateli’s latest novel. As they come together over the wine at a spirited wake, they unite the time and space of the past and the present. An intensely poetic mood imbues this story of nature, love and death. Legends, fables, inexplicable natural phenomena and the unseen connection between things are entwined with a series of spectral absences, while the visible and the real continually give way to the invisible and imaginary. Dreams, imagination and memory play a leading role in the dance set up by fey Lefka and her grandfather Dafkos.
