| 02. Παράταση αιτήσεων για συμμετοχή στο πρόγραμμα «Φράσις» του ΕΚΕΒΙ | | Η Επιτροπή του Προγράμματος «Φράσις» του Εθνικού Κέντρου Βιβλίου (ΕΚΕΒΙ) συνεδρίασε στις 13 Μαΐου αποφασίζοντας να παραταθεί έως τις αρχές Ιουνίου η δυνατότητα υποβολής αιτήσεων από ενδιαφερόμενους εκδοτικούς οίκους, φορείς, πνευματικά ιδρύματα και πολιτιστικούς οργανισμούς του εξωτερικού για την επιχορήγηση μεταφράσεων Ελλήνων συγγραφέων. |  |
| 07. Τα Εργαστήρια Βιβλίου του ΕΚΕΒΙ | | Από το Εθνικό Κέντρο Βιβλίου διευκρινίζεται ότι η λειτουργία των Εργαστηρίων Βιβλίου του ΕΚΕΒΙ έχει προς το παρόν ανασταλεί και σε κανέναν δεν έχει παρασχεθεί το δικαίωμα να παρουσιάζεται ως συνεχιστής.
Σχετικά με το θέμα έχει αποσταλεί εξώδικο προς το βιβλιοπωλείο που εμφανίζεται με διαφημίσεις ως συνεχιστής των Εργαστηρίων που επί σειρά ετών λειτούργησαν με επιτυχία από το ΕΚΕΒΙ. | |

In an unvarnished tale of Greek and other migrants in the industrial cities of West Germany during the 1960s and 70s, Antonis Sourounis takes on the establishment in all its manifestations. His cheeky, blasphemous narrator is equally cutting whether attacking power or indulging in merciless ridicule of downtrodden migrants and their misfortunes. As the characters turn aside from their miserable daily routines, they reveal an inner self that has been scarred by the myriad humiliations outsiders endure while they struggle to adapt to unfamiliar social conditions. The narrator is just as sarcastic at his own expense, proving he can make fun of his ordeals while proclaiming his certainty that he will survive at all costs. The plot moves along at a steady clip. The characters, drawn in brief but telling sketches, linger on in the reader’s mind. And the irony, dispensed in generous doses, never falls short of its mark.
