Attempting a “link with the previous”, through scenes from daily life, from news items, from memory and time’s inverse course, Siotis endeavours to examine the way in which life and its surrounding world operate by linking cities, situations, loves, politics and the environment with their past and their future, thus giving substance to the role of the poet, whose obligation it is to intervene through his poetry in the common life. This eighteenth collection of poetry by Dinos Siotis (awarded the Greek State Prize for Poetry in 2007) takes us on a trip through a strange world in which the protagonists are human relationships, irony, sarcasm and self-sarcasm, life’s beauty and pain, at the same time highlighting the insignificant and the neglected.
