Eliana Hourmouziadou was in born 1965 in Athens, where she continues to live.
She studied French at Athens University while working at the National Bank of Greece. At the same time she began writing her first novel, The Neighborhood of the Good Thieves.
Since 1991 she has worked at the Cultural Foundation of the National Bank of Greece. Her second novel, The Private Secretary, won the Diavazo literary journal prize for the novel in 1999. She has also published short stories and articles in the journals Odos Panos, Lexi, Revmata and Grafi and the newspapers Ta Nea and To Vima.
