Ersi Sotiropoulos was born in Patras and lives in Athens. She studied philosophy and cultural anthropology in Florence and worked as the cultural attache at the Greek Embassy in Rome. Her book Zig-Zag through the Bitter-Orange Trees won the State Award for the Novel and the Diavazo Fiction Award for 2000.
