Dimitra Kolliakou

Dimitra Kolliakou was born in Athens in 1968. She studied philology at Athens University and obtained a doctorate in linguistics from Edinburgh University in 1995. In 1997 she went to Jerusalem were she was visiting lecturer in the English department of Hebrew University for two years. She now lives in London and Newcastle and lectures at the School of English at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Her first novel The Magium (Hestia, 1999) won the Jim Wilson Prize for a new author, awarded by the National Book Centre of Greece.
