Vasilev Svetlin
Illustrator: Greek Mythology: How the World Began, Issue No 21

Vasilev Svetlin was born in 1971 in Rouse in Bulgaria. He studied at the T. Labrenov Fine Arts Secondary School (1985-90) and at the N. Pavlovic Fine Arts School in Sofia, specialising in painting (1990-96). He has worked with the Bulgarian publishers Zlatno Pate, Arges, D. Ubenova, Columb92 and Icon since 1992. He has illustrated more than 20 books in Bulgaria, including Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, Fairy Tales of Bengal, Big Tummy, The White Cat and Fairy Tales from the Old Chest.
Since 1997 he has lived and worked in Greece and has illustrated more than 10 books, most of them for Papadopoulos publishers’ Ta Ellinika series.
