Thomas Skassis
 The Shadow Clock, Issue No 3

Thomas Skassis was born in Athens in 1953. He studied law at Athens University, did postgraduate studies at University College London and worked as a lawyer for 25 years. From 1999 to 2002 he worked with the Vivliothiki supplement of Eleftherotypia newspaper, presenting Greek translations of foreign novels.
He is the secretary of the Hellenic Authors’ Society.
Skassis has translated numerous writers including Claude Simon, Henri Troyat, Don DeLillo and Graham Swift.
His translation of Simon’s Le Tram won the 2004 State Translation Award.
