Periklis Sfyridis
 Short Stories 1977-2002, Issue No 14

Periklis Sfyridis was born in 1933 in Thessaloniki, where he still lives. He studied medicine at Thessaloniki University and worked as a cardiologist until 1994. He was president of the Thessaloniki Medical Association from 1975 to 1981.
He made his literary debut with a collection of poems in 1974 and was a contributor to Diagonios literary journal.From 1985 to 1990 he edited Parafyada, an annual edition of unpublished prose from Thessaloniki. From 1987 to 1996 he was a consulting editor for To Tram magazine. He has written the script for a documentary series and co-written film scripts. Two of his short stories have been made into television films for Greek state television. He has published two collections of poetry, nine volumes of short stories, two novels, numerous studies and edited three anthologies of prose by writers from Thessaloniki.
