Faidon Tambakakis was born in Alexandria in 1960 and lives in Athens. He studied economics and English literature. He has published five works of fiction. His novel The Castaways of the Pasifae (1997) won the Diavazo literary journal prize for best novel in 1997. He has translated John Fowles, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Zelda Fitzgerald and Ben Traven into Greek.
