Eleni Fessa-Emmanouil was born in Volos in 1943. She graduated from the School of Architecture and Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens in 1997, where she also gained her doctorate in 1990.
Since 1990 she has been working systematically on the history of twentieth-century Greek architecture. She has written some 100 research and theoretical essays, most of which have been published in journals in Greece and abroad, conference proceedings, encyclopedias and collective publications.
