Mar Mor (Maria Morgan-Vlalchou-Mavrogennea) was born in 1970 in Kardamyli, in the Mani. She started travelling at an early age and later moved to Wales with her husband and their three children. Inspired by village life and the caravan trips she and her family made to different places in Europe, she began to write stories and fairy tales. On returning to the Mani, the family started up a farm where they grow organic produce, mainly olive oil, and where she continues to write.
