Stratos Dordanas has a PhD in modern and contemporary history from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he has taught in the journalism and mass media department. In 2006 he started teaching in the Florina Balkan Studies department of the University of Western Madedonia. He researches German-Greek relations and the history of Greek Macedonia in the 20th century, focusing on the 1940s, the German occupation and the Greek civil war.
