Theofano Kaloyanni was born 1967 in Thessaloniki. She spent her childhood in Sweden and her adolescence on Limnos. She has studied art restoration, English literature, Byzantine music and palaeography.
Her first book, The Death of the Knight, won the Athens Academy’s K. Ouranis award in 1992.
She has published work in the daily press and in periodicals. She translates literature from the Swedish, Norwegian and English. She now lives and works in Athens.
The Garden with the Greys is her fourth book and the first that she has illustrated.
