He is known as Little Red, because of his passion for the colour. He dreams of becoming a fireman, his favourite food is beef cooked in tomato sauce and served with tomato salad, washed down with a glass of strawberry juice. When his teacher asks him to tell a fairy tale one day in class, he naturally chooses Little Red Riding Hood. And the imaginary friend that he conjures up by sending smoke signals is a Native American called Red Deer. One night when he can’t get to sleep, not even by counting foxes and robins, he paints his room red, with the help of his friend.
Makis Tsitas has a talent for recreating the fixations and fantasies of small children, weaving them seamlessly into everyday activities. Lively illustrations by Daniela Stamatiadi complement his engaging story, bringing the real and imagined world together.
