 Neni Efthymiadi

319pp.
Kedros, 2005
ISBN: 960-04-2724-0

A group of friends move to Paris to expand the activities of a business they have jointly founded in Athens. But once they arrive in France, everything changes and they are forced to see one another in a very different light.
An atmosphere of mystery and adventure pervades a story that focuses on the search for the meaning of existence and identity. The author deliberately creates characters with limitations and partial awareness in an environment where surprises abound. The action moves constantly back and forth between Mediterranean Athens and western European Paris, pointing up the contrasts between the two cities.
Neni Efthymiadi plays an ongoing game with the genres of popular and detective fiction, which become part of the plot and are commented on in various ways in the novel.
The climate of suspense and expectation grips the reader till the last page.
