| 02. Παράταση αιτήσεων για συμμετοχή στο πρόγραμμα «Φράσις» του ΕΚΕΒΙ | | Η Επιτροπή του Προγράμματος «Φράσις» του Εθνικού Κέντρου Βιβλίου (ΕΚΕΒΙ) συνεδρίασε στις 13 Μαΐου αποφασίζοντας να παραταθεί έως τις αρχές Ιουνίου η δυνατότητα υποβολής αιτήσεων από ενδιαφερόμενους εκδοτικούς οίκους, φορείς, πνευματικά ιδρύματα και πολιτιστικούς οργανισμούς του εξωτερικού για την επιχορήγηση μεταφράσεων Ελλήνων συγγραφέων. |  |
| 07. Τα Εργαστήρια Βιβλίου του ΕΚΕΒΙ | | Από το Εθνικό Κέντρο Βιβλίου διευκρινίζεται ότι η λειτουργία των Εργαστηρίων Βιβλίου του ΕΚΕΒΙ έχει προς το παρόν ανασταλεί και σε κανέναν δεν έχει παρασχεθεί το δικαίωμα να παρουσιάζεται ως συνεχιστής.
Σχετικά με το θέμα έχει αποσταλεί εξώδικο προς το βιβλιοπωλείο που εμφανίζεται με διαφημίσεις ως συνεχιστής των Εργαστηρίων που επί σειρά ετών λειτούργησαν με επιτυχία από το ΕΚΕΒΙ. | |

The central character in the book is Johann Joachim Winckelmann (1717–1768), who promoted art in its most idealized form, proclaiming to one and all the timeless superiority of Ancient Greek painting and sculpture
Alexandros Isaris contrasts Winckelmann’s idealism with the violent manner of his death in Trieste, where a strange cook murders him for obscure motives.
Bringing together in masterful fashion Winckelmann’s homosexuality, his archaeological research and his relations in society, Isaris takes the hero to the verge of depression. Beneath the unruffled surface of the art historian and archaeologist’s career, the author reveals a broken man, filled with passion and tension. In this game of special circumstances and unexpected inconsistencies, art is unable to smooth over real life and give it balance.
It is a lively account, full of accurate detail and with a varied cast of characters that are portrayed in discreet depth.
