Angela Dimitrakaki was born in Mytilene in 1968. In addition to a short story collection The Nosebleed (pub. Oxy 1999), she has written three novels, Antarctica (Oxy, 1997, revised edition 2006), Antisea (Oxy, 2002), and The Manifesto of Defeat (Hestia, 2006), and her short stories have been included in many anthologies. She teaches contemporary art theory at the University of Edinburgh.
