Yiannis Lolos was born in Athens in 1968. He studied art history and archaeology at the Sorbonne (Paris IV), and has a PhD in ancient history and Mediterranean archaeology from the University of California at Berkeley. He has been a visiting professor at Michigan University, a member and researcher at the American School of Classical Studies and has taught at the University of Thessaly since 2002. His research focusses on the archaeology and history of ancient Sikyon and the ancient Greek countryside.
