Efi Gialousi-Hatzichristou was born in Mytilene. She studied philosophy and sociology at Monash University, Australia, and has worked in the field of gastronomy, wine and spirits since 1985. She has been writing tourist guides and contributing articles on gastronomy to newspapers and magazines since 2000.
