Yorgos Chronas was born in 1948 in Piraeus and lives in Athens. Since his literary debut in 1973, he has published 18 books of poetry, prose and plays. In 1979 he began working for the Third Programme on Greek state radio, then under the direction of Manos Hatzidakis, where he presented the program 17 Panos Street, and where he now presents Hotel Balkania. He has also worked for the First and Second Programmes of state radio. Some of his poems and prose have been translated into several languages, and 100 of his lyrics have been set to music by Greek composers. Since 1981, he has published Odos Panos literary review, while directed the publishing house of the same name and Sigareta publications. He contributes to magazines and newspapers.
